| Bio: | I am a seeker of God, life, friends, adventure and good times.I love my family-2 grown daughters, my mother and my husband. I believe in angels and in unexpected good turns in life. I love to read books and magazines. I am bilingual. I have lived in Argentina, Venezuela and the USA. I have written a book "LEGENDS AND RECIPES OF MY FAR AWAY LANDS." Four of my poems have been published.
I love reciting, reading and writing poems. I also love writing short stories, novels, and chapter books. My "Ricky on social security" was a finalist (top 2% out of 19000 manuscripts) in the 2002 Writers Digest competition. I am forever revising my manuscript for a children's chapter book and a young adult novel. I am terrified that my manuscripts will never be ready for mailing out. I am in the 2DO before I die book by Chris day and Mike Ogden. I would love to have an agent for my writing. I like so much the writing itself that I neglect the filing and it's hard to find my finished stories. I like teaching English and Spanish composition to private students. I enjoy writing to pen-pals. I am an extrovert--I love being with people but I am also an introvert--I love being alone. I can't make up my mind as to which I am. I had a bed and breakfast home (Mountain Mansion) in Leadville, Colorado, for many years. I love champagne snow (fresh snow, not packed and not wet) and visiting ghost towns.
My favorite writing contests are: Writers Digest and the 3 Day Novel Writing contest. Once I wrote ten thousand words for it. It really should be called the contest for writers who like to punish themselves an awful lot, but know they will feel a grand sense of accomplishment at the end. |
